Banded Horn
« on: July 20, 2011, 03:39:37 PM »
This is about 13 ¼” around the outside curve. The Walnut base is about 2 ¼”, hollowed out about half way and held in with 4 steel pins. The two part antler tip is about 2 ½”, the two parts are pinned together with 3 steel pins and is held on with 3 more. The bands were heated and pressed on then 3 steel pins in each secure them.

Tim. Great looking horn.  Bands, color, base plug, tip, all these components compliment each other.  Nicely done.

This horn has wonderful proportions.  This give it that "first glance" appeal.  I can't see how if could be better!  Wish it was mine.

Tim I think the applied tip is what makes it a wonderful banded horn complete.  Simple, functional and not too 'sophisticated'.  Great job and one of these days we'll run into each other.  ;D

As always, a really well done horn, both in architecture and color.  What am I not surprised?
