I have been emailing back a forth a little with Mr. Peter Alexander the author of "The Gunsmith of Grenville County" and he has confirmed that he is working on a new revision of his book.  Right now he is shooting for a publication date before Christmas.

He said, "As for the new edition of my book (the Course text), I am hard at work revising it, with a publication date before Christmas.".

This should be good news for those looking for his book, and not willing to pay $400 for a used copy.

In one of your emails to him, could you  ask him if this version is going to be substantially different from the original version to interest and be useful to owners of the original?

thanks Micah

He hasn't given me specific details, but yes, he said it will be "very revised".

Do a search for that book on eBay and Amazon. It's priced between $250 and $400 easy.   The book and vcr tape combo is virtually priceless.

What is a VCR tape??? do I need that to measure something? or is it for keeping browning from getting on something???

At the time it seemed like a better choice than the dvd. Mr. Alexander does
a great job of showing his techniques. He does posess a slightly dry, mono-tone voice that I find helpful going to sleep. Great teaching aid though.

Yea I think a VCR tape is a kind of flimsy yard stick.  It has measurements for standard and metric.  It sort of rolls up and stores in it's own plastic case.  It's no wonder it's worth so much!
