Taylor on the blog
« on: August 13, 2011, 04:53:22 AM »
Finally got my new 'puter up and going and so got to see Taylor's fine rifle on the blog. Living proof that western "big leaf" maple can make a spectacular stock. Good on ya, Taylor!

Seeing Bucks County LRs are my favorites, nearly "popped" my eyes when I saw Taylor's rendition of Verner's  masterpiece...Taylor's Verner  is a masterpiece of a masterpiece. ....Fred

Hi flehto,
Have we ever had the privilege of seeing anything Taylor made that wasn't a masterpiece?  He is undoubtedly among the best makers in North America.

Taylor.....to me, this would be one of the most difficult guns to copy.   Way too much stuff to inlet, entry pipe for example.
If I were to copy it, it would have to be a barn gun version.   Great job..............Don

Taylor...when I saw the Verner I went into the woods where I had thrown my chisels after I saw your Lehigh...gathered them up and threw them further into the bush.   A splendid job as usual.

yep Taylor.  A VERY close copy.  I'm thinking of forging my chisels into barn gun trigger guards.

 Keep 'em coming, Kevin
