After viewing this thread I realized there was something in the back of my mind that I had seen in a movie regarding a wall gun. I couldn't put the faint memory to realization until today when I was driving around and it finally dawned on me where I had seen one in Hollywood action.
In the latest version of "Last of the Mohicans", the scene where the British and French are battling for the fort, there is a real quick scene of a uniformed British gunner / sniper shoulder firing a wall gun over the top of the wall of the fort down on top of the French troops digging trenches and manning the French artillery. This specifically occurs during the large scene with the British artillery officer directing cannon fire down on the French below.
The gunner runs up to the wall with what looks like an abnormally large Brown Bess, leans forward and over the top a little bit then fires. The scene quickly cuts back to the artillery officer (if I recall properly) afterwards.
I'm sure this may be old business to some of Yall but for those that may have missed it I thought I'd take the time to point it out. I find it interesting that history was researched and repeated that well by Hollywood.
