Please help identify foundry or casting mark
« on: August 28, 2011, 04:24:38 AM »
Hi Folks,
I have an excellent wax casting in brass of a buttplate for an English fowler.  It is clearly stamped on the back with a circle within which is an "H" or it is a "T" with a line under it if that is the proper orientation.  Does anyone know who the maker is?

That is one of our castings.  The mark in the circle is actually a "J" and "C" back to back.  Thanks for the complement on our casting.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for the response.  Frankly, it is the best casting I've ever seen.  Do you make it in steel and sell it as a part separate from your kits?

Most of our castings are in brass only, but we do make the fowler and Edward Marshall castings in steel.  And, yes we do sell individual castings from our kits.  The only exception is the ones from the Mark Silver Virginia and the Militia Musket kits.  Mark does not want those castings sold separately from the kit.
