pipe hawks

Hello all,
Finished 2 pipe hawks during the first half of my deployment. Both are casting from RE Davis and have tiger maple handles. The one on top has shaped handle and two poured pewter bands (melted the pewter down in my room from an antique pewter pitcher that I took with he that was all but destroyed). The top has a cap of scrimshawed horn with brass nails and a horn pipe clean out plug. I used a red-brown alcohol stain rubbed down with boiled linseed oil. The head has been aged as well and engraved by my friend Phil Cravener and has hand-filed design on the top edge. The top is filed into a sun-burst design and topped with a horn clean our plug. The stem has a turned horn mouthpiece. I used a golden brown alcohol-based stain rubbed down with boiled linseed oil. Thanks for looking,
