Replacement Flash Hole Liners
« on: September 26, 2011, 04:58:20 AM »
I need to replace a burnt out liner. It is 5/16" and I would like to replace it with one that does not have a screw slot or allen head recess. I see track offers an Ampco but only in 1/4". Where else might I check? Thanks, Bob

Need to know your threads per inch.....  Chambers carries a 5/16-32 I believe.

You did not mention  the caliber  or the bbl width, but if you  have enough  meat in the bbl you could use Chambers' 3/8" dia white lightening.

You will likely have to have one made by someone that knows how.

I agree with Dan's recommendation, you will need to make one.  Get yourself a stainless steel bolt and turn one out on a lathe.

Thanks guys, it is a 5/16X24. It goes on a swamped no name .54 cal. 42" barrel. I left a message for Tip Curtis and called me back today. He has them in either stainless or soft steel to match the finish on the barrel. $4.00 each. And I was headed to town to finally buy that $8000.00 lathe. >:( Bob
