Thank you Mitch, your kindness is much appreciated! My good friend Bill Hammond who owns Spring Brook Trading Post in Eaton Rapids MI has known Phil Davidson for nearly 40 years. Bill told me that Davidson's work had been written up in past Muzzle Blast's and he even once made the front cover. Your attachment copy of this article means a lot to me! I have a current phone # for Phil Davidson and plan to give him a call one of these days. The photo at the bottom in your Nov. 95 article is definately of my schutzen rifle! It was made for a past member of my shooting club named Neal Spicer. The rifle came with it's custom made leather case with Neal's initials embroidered on it. By some coincidense several years ago I bought a flintlock poorboy squirrel rifle that had been made by Art Holly. I was told by the gunshop owner (Alpena MI) Holly had made the rifle back in the late 40's for a gentleman from Manistee MI. I recently took this flinter out of my gun safe, along with the old business card attached to it. There is silver wire inlayed into the initials on the upper wrist.....N S. The card says made by Art Holly for Neal Spicer Manistee MI 1949. All the very best to you Mitch!.........Joel
