Primitive Powder Elkalow Pocket Horn
« on: November 26, 2011, 12:57:25 AM »
A friend wanted me to make him a primitive pocket horn & something different..  :hmm:
That put me to thinking...  Probably not too many of these wandering around.  Horn off
a Elkalow....  Half Elk, half Buffalo.....   He said they only come on spike bucks...    ??? ::)
I don't know, we don't have these in Alabama.....

Now all you need is a Jackalope horn so you can make a primer to go with it. Oh, that’s right they didn’t use primers… just saved one more Jackalope.

That's a nice little horn.  I love the stopper.  Would like to try it sometime...  If it's alright with you.

Ah, I hear campfire tales coming, especially when there's a pilgrim present.

I should tell you of the Gorge Gougers, the prehistoric ancestor of the infamous sidehill gouger we know and love.

BTW, I think I read somewhere that because only male elk have antlers and both sexes of buffalo have horns, that the female of the species elkalow has one horn, confusing the identification of North American unicorn in the eyes of the inexperienced. Any truth?
