1812 Nautical Inspired Powder Horn
« on: December 13, 2011, 04:29:59 AM »
Here is a carved powder horn for those who are into the 1812 persona.  The entire horn is engraved with items relating to the sea.  The horn is about 12 inches around the outside curve and 2 1/4 inches across it's turned base. I used AF and then cold smoked the entire horn and hand buffed with washed cotton denim material to remove some of the finish and give it a slightly worn look.

I like it. The color and finnish give it a nice warm glow.    Smylee

Nice work, the engraving is great. A little to clean, as in no patina, for me :)
