1760 Map Horn with Folk Art
« on: January 09, 2012, 11:01:28 PM »
I have not posted anything in quite a while. Been busy doing website work.
This is my version of a 1760 horn that is in the Harley book with some very loose folk art elements. I tried a scribe on this horn. The horn was so hard I could not get the line I wanted, but here it is anyway.
Constructive criticism is always desired.
Regards,
Rick Sheets

At Mr. Morrison's urging are two closeups. Blame Scott!

Looking good Rick. Would it be possible for you to post some close ups of the engraving?  I promise I won't laugh... ;)

Scott, I added a couple of closeups to my original posting. You can laugh if you want. The next one will be better. Going back to a blade! Rick ;D

Super horn Rick!  Looks 250 years old.  Hoping to come across one like it some day.

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Very nice horn there, Mr. Sheets. I guess you did have some good teachers. It does have a nice, old look. Of course that is something I sort of prefer, myself.

What did you dye this one with? It has a great color.

Better bring it with you next week so we can see it.
