What's the daily limit on pumpkins where you live?

Hey Snuffy
Turn them Jack O Lanterns around and you can snuff them candles easier!
Looks like fun, to my son too!

Better check your state laws regarding shooting of pumkins on Sunday. It's illegal in Pa. :D

Shooting pumpkins on thanksgiving morning is a tradition around here.  At the trap range where we shoot every thursday evening, about 10 years ago we started this tradition.  We have gathered about 300 pumpkins this year.
Early on thursday morning, they will get two holes drilled into the top of each one and are then filled with water.  We
then put them in rows on the hill beyond the trap house.....everyone brings out their hunting rifles, mostly modern stuff,
and at a given signal we commence firing.....must sound like a minor war to the neighbors.  I would estimate that something in excess of 500 rounds are fired.  Everything from big double rifles to small cannons......but, a lot of fun...Don

Sounds like lots of fun Don!  Maybe next year I can get the folks here on board with that idea! :)

I do have to say that I tried barking those little punkin critters with my rifle as to not waste good punkin pie fixens, but I got a bit to high with my shots... :o

Don is right about filling them with water first - lots more fun !!!   I do this in the hunter education field day shooting demonstration which is used to impress how destructive firearms are of living flesh so the misquided notions shown on TV is not realistic.    Water filled Pumpkins just about vaporize.

Snuffer,
Thanks for the post, I enjoyed it. Brought a smile to my day as I get on with work.

Don,
Great idea on the pumkins filled with water. Now that's something I have to try! Always left them in the compost pile, but not any more.
