Esteemed Forum,
I was looking at the 1756 Loudoun Enquiry of Albany, NY households (the British army survey of available space in the town) and noticed it shows five gunsmiths resident there in that period, several of whom remained in business into the 1770s, ie. Robert Lansing, Gerrit Lansing, Michael Bassett, Bernard Harsen, and Staats Van Santvoort.
What I'd like to know is if any guns they produced have survived? I've asked a couple of museum curators who have basically just pointed to the next fellow, and so on.
