Hello all,

Well this has been a little over one year in the making.  I made the trigger Martin Luther King Day, 2011.  So now my first build is done.  I have wanted to do this since I was 15.  I am 34 now.

My idea was to make a rifle that would be seen in the southern backcountry, made by Moravian builders just prior to the American Revolution.  The carving designs came from a couple of different Moravian long guns.  There are some issues with it.  It is not perfect, but I am tickled to death with it. 

The stock is from Dave Keck, he also inlet the barrel for me.  The barrel is from Chambers, as is the lock.  The trigger guard and buttplate are from RE Davis.  The pipes are also from Davis, but I shaped the details in them.  I made the sideplate, trigger and trigger plate myself.

My best friend comes down from Delaware next week and we will see how it shoots.

 Nice first build Coryjoe the one thing that caught my eye is your front sight .I think you might want to turn it around  .  Keep up the good work and show us your next one.

Coryjoe, It is a lot of work and learning and something to be proud of. You did it!! It looks good now lets see how it shoots!!

Well done. It is very satisfying to have it all come together even with those imperfections that only you really know about. What is the breach width of this barrel, it looks like a "D".  The early guns are more interesting  to me than the late guns. I like it a lot. Keep up the good work.

Dave, it is the barrel that Cahmbers fits with his Lancaster kits.  It is smaller than a D, and larger than a C.

I did not realize it was bacwards until you guys pointed it out.  It does need to be filed down some anyway.

That is fabulous, I am sooo jealous, Wish I had the talent to do that... I would end up with a box of parts and some dang expensive firewood...GOOD job..

Yeah the apron is brand new.  I got tired of ruining my clothes making powder horns.

Hey Rolf

The profile is KNob Mountain Muzzleloaders early transitional profile.  The stainwas the stain that Chambers sells.  Several coats.

Good job for a first rifle much better than mine! Oh, by the way I put my first front sight on backwards too ;D Looked like it should go that way to me.

I can tell you are hooked and that there will be many more.
