OK, been working on this for about 6 months.
Started out being a plain gun, with nice piece of wood. Well, it evolved to what you see here.
Absolutely the toughest working piece of wood I've EVER used. Pretty, but very brittle. Had to make several repairs along the way.

Styled after John Rupp #6 in 2010 KRA Presidents CD.
Red maple stock, Getz 46" Rupp profile barrel, modified Chamber's Siler lock, hand made inlays, brass hardware. Lightly aged finish on both wood and metal.

No Sand paper used, my first with scrapers only. Gives the figure a kinda neat washboard effect.

Critiques and criticisms welcome!!

Sorry to overkill this, but I had time to take some better photos today, so I thought I'd post them so you could see a little more detail and real colors.
Now over to the For Sale section to see if anyone would like to own the "Petite Brunette"

The only thing that stands out to me is the "tacks" holding the inlays have heads that appear a little oversized. Now with that said, I am not familiar with the rifle you are using as a guide AND the rest looks to be outstanding. Very nice Dane!!!!

I love that roman-nosed contour of stock. Excellent choice of wood. Very nicely figured and the staining looks great. Nice job !!!

The "domed headed tacks" are pretty common in this style of rifle. They may be a "little" larger than the originals, but not much.

I just realized that my "liberty head" eyes look almost oriental!!??!!

Thank you, sincerely. But I am a rank amateur in those ranks. I only DREAM of doing the kind of work that the guys like Allen Martin do. Just don't have the skill sets to do that kind of work.
I still hold the Busty Brunette, every time I pick her up, and pray that some day, I could do that quality of work. Don't think I'll live that long.

I have noticed you appreciate the traditional rifles and I should have known that the pin heads would be a good representative. No meaning behind it, sorry if I implied anything else. Besides like I said, I'm not all that informed on the paticulars.

I think the standard size for a Chamber's Siler is 3/4 x 7/8"
