Help with antler measure blowout

Hey gang,  I'm a gun builder, not a horner, so I need some help.

Today, I got my antler powder measure right on 70 grains, and suddenly, I busted out the side.  Looking for a little decorative trick to repair the break.  It's less than 1/8" square.  How can I patch it, cover it, repair it???  Still need it and don't want to throw it away.

Not very decorative, but I would mix some of the horn material with epoxy and patch it with that. Would hardly be noticeable on a hole that small. Mix it all together and just apply it with your finger.

hammer out a lead patch... peened on the inside... have done it several times with success... appears period...

Smallpatch,
Put a small piece of brass over the hole and engrave 70 on it.

Mark,

I have a small barrel pin escutcheon that I can glue in and engrave.  Won't look like it's inlet in place, but will cover the hole.

Wrap it in rawhide and see what you get.  Something that small you could use thread or sinew and wrap it tight around the leather and still get a great fit.

Hey Smallpatch:  If it's in the round, how about turning an antler band and use it to cover the boo-boo.  You can put a couple of turnings on the antler band to match the carving of the measure.

Wow, you guys are attributing way more skill to me than I really have.

This is a plain old piece of antler tine with a hole drilled in it, (and out the side).  I'm a gun builder who needs a powder measure.  I don't have the tools or knowledge to do the kind of work you guys do.

I need something simple.

Or just make another one if it's a simple drilled out antler measure with no turnings or file work.
