Hi,
The relative plainess of the wood makes that artistry all the more noticeable.  It is a brilliant choice.  I can look at Jim's guns for hours absorbing the superior designs and the attention to detail.  What I admire most is that all of it is planned and executed with purpose.  He is a complete master of his art and craft.  What a great gun!!

Love that work by the ramrod inlet pipe.   Beautiful rifle, a carving masterpiece!

The elegance of design and excellence of execution make this the quintessence of the art of the American Longrifle. It is truly a masterpiece.

Now what is the little hole or key or something under the cheekpiece??  Puzzled me to death!!

Thanks guys :)  This is a gun that I made two or three years ago.  Glad you enjoyed seeing it.  I think what you're looking at is just a bit of leaf, Tim.

Thanks again,
Jim
