ok i gotta ask,,whats the hole in the frizzen for??

The build team speculated that on the original it was drilled so that the frizzen could be easily soled by feeding solder through that hole during the process.
Matt Dennison preserved that detail and soled the copy gun accordingly...

Anybody consider that the hole was there from a previous soling and that the previous one was riveted on? I've resoled a few fizzens via riveting rather than solder and also forge brazrd some using a rivet to hold things in place (much like the early Hawkens use rivets for holding buttplates together while forge brazing.

As I recall, this was Charles Hanson's speculation as well.  

(Edited to add:  It would be really helpful if folks commenting on such guns would at least say what gun they are talking about.)
