Thanks, Don. I have an American pattern fowling piece that Joe built for me in about '85, using one of your 20ga x 44" barrels. I love it as much today as when I first opened the shipping box. Oh--Davis Germanic lock, very dark hard maple, iron buttplate & trigger guard, brass thimbles.

Shot it the weekend just past, and was thinking of him. In our correspondence (remember actual phone calls and postal letters?) I asked him if he glass-bedded barrels or tangs. He sent me a one sentence letter: "I've never seen any 18th century fiberglass."

I haven't gone under yet

I moved back to the Rocky Moutains in "89"

Remember that fowler and building it for you.
Glad that it still serves you well.

I'm still building guns,just not taking orders.

Let me know if you are going  to be RMNR this year, and we can share a cup
I'd love to see the patina you've put on that gun
