Hunts For Healing Pouch
« on: March 22, 2012, 05:37:26 PM »
I have not posted a pouch here for a while but thought this one appropriate since it has a roundabout connection to us at ALR. This is a pouch I am just finishing up for the Hunts For Healing wounded soldiers outdoor program.
The leather is all veg. tan and the dog tag image was done with a hot tool, sort of burning into the leather, leaving the soot from the oil lamp in the leather.

can you give more details on how the hunts work and how the bag fits in to the events? I am wanting to hear more about it....are the hunts BP only? Thank you.

Griz,

I don't have anything to do with the organization but you can check out this thread for more information. Bill D here on ALR is affiliated with the ML end of the program.

Griz,   Here's the link to the site.   They do several hunts for wounded Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans.  I've been "guiding" for the soldiers for three years now.  The woman who founded the organization, Mindy Piccoitti, is a Vietnam Vet.  A great lady who gives  110% of her self to these soldiers.

I'm building two guns and Ed Wenger is building one.  All three guns and shooting bags and supplies will be donated to the organization for the soldiers to use when they visit.  Of all the events HFH does the flintlock is, by far, the most popular.   Next event is a Spring Turkey hunt upcoming in five weeks.

Thanks, Bill
