It looks like one of many Breach treatments from the 16th 17th centuries, like the bone nesecaps, etc.

It was a joke.  Kodak sold cameras at no profit.  They sold the film for the cameras at a large profit.  Your lock is the camera and the pyrite is the film.

I'm sorry Bolek, I forget the distance between us.
  One day you will have to write a description of the relationships of all of the various parts of your locks. Maybe with some of your well known, to some, line drawings.
 Here are two questions that are on my mind: How do you make the pan for these early locks? and How many cigarettes did you smoke while making this one?
