Horn Needles
« on: April 16, 2012, 06:25:34 AM »
Here is something I've been messing around with. Horn darning needles. Just scraps of flat horn with an eye put in them and scraped to shape. I'll let you know how they work after I use one to sew up a blanket gun case.

I have made several needle cases. See this old post for the first one I made.

I'm not sure these would be as good s steel needles for sewing up leather. I think they'll work well for Pam darning socks and I intend to use them for sewing blanket items. I have used nylon needles for this.
See the West Coast Horn Fair prizes for another horn needle case.
