So last year my wife said I could not build guns on the Kitchen table anymore... the garage is too hot in summer and too cold in winter! She offered me the bonus room above the garage..."She who must be obeyed!"

She kept one end for her landscape design work.

So the big shop vac is in the attic behind the small door on the left. The new pine plank flooring with square cut top nails is down. Can't afford Williamsburg furnishings yet but perhaps gradually .....

A/C and heat is wonderful... Got a couple more lights to set up and then to finish the gun on the bench!!!

Dr. Tim Boone. Sir, great looking man working space. Many great hours will be spent in such a work space. First thing comes to mind. Somebody's landscape design work area is going to need LOTS of dusting.

I personal keep a well lived in work space and under no condition would be able to survive sharing a space with the boss of our house. Outstanding floor. Thanks for sharing. Jim & Alyce.

One half expects to see the ghost of Jacob Dickert sitting there late one evening...

Dr. Tim, just how long do you think your wife is going to allow you stay in her shop? LOL I would say about the time horn dust from that belt sander gets all over that fancy chair

or, that little smear of inletting black on your pants gets on that white couch, your butt will be back in the garage.

As beautiful as that work shop is I can't help but wonder....why do I seem to see a cut off Louisville Slugger baseball bat laying in front of the bench grinder

...and complete with a comfortable "moaning chair" to retire to when you need to reflect and figure out how to fix what you just did. A most important fixture in any shop.

Wow that's a beautiful shop space.

My modest workshop shares the unfinished half of the basement with the laundry. I have to be careful to plan operations around ironing and wash on the line in order to keep down dust and maintain a peaceful coexistance.

Beautiful space Tim. I think you'll love it. Somehow it looks smaller than it did in your other photos. LOL

I work in my bonus room as well. My whole shop is crammed into on corner of the room. In the rest of the room is a sofa, 2 chairs, stereo, TV, large coffee table and 2 dormant exercise machines. One large closet is filled with dead storage. One of these days I'm gonna remove the furniture and the old carpeting and make it a proper work shop.

Wow, what a fantastic setup. I think a Queen Anne wing chair is perfect for a gunsmith shop. If I had one in my shop, it would be well used to ponder how to rectify that last mistake. And heating and cooling..... Well done!

So where is the mini-refrigerator for that end of day beer??

Dr. T, that's not a shop. It's an lounge with a workbench on the side. I'd suggest adding a mini-bar, but it might not go well with the tools

Tim, you obviously have a much different approach to rifle building than I do. Dust...heck, I don't stop to clean up until wood chips are getting into my shoes. And when I clean my rifle, water splashes all over the place, not to mention the WD 40 I spray into the lock and then blast out with the compressor.
I've been married happily for 40 years, to the same bride. But I resent it when she comes into the shop to collect coffee cups. I've got to congratulate you, if you can share the space and not come to blows.
