One more item of the Horn "bucket list".  turned on the lathe and hand wrought copper ring.  3" long and 1/2 inch across at the widest part.  Threads are cut with 3/8 - 11 NC tap and die. Aged with rit (same mix as I use on my powder horns)

A friend recently showed me a small round box, about the diameter of a cap box, but twice as high.  He said his great grandfather made it from a piece of antler.   That was turned and polished.    It did have the look of old ivory and it was so finely crafted that light passed through.   There was no marking of any kind.  The bottom and lid appeared to have a dark brown wood, probably walnut inlaided where the antler would be pourous.

Looks like something to try to copy.
