Unsigned Percussion, looking for info

Thank you all for the help on my other 2 rifles I posted recently.  This is the last one I have and thought maybe someone could identify the maker or area this is from.  It is a percussion, looks like the hammer was replaced at one time.  Any info would be appreciated. The lock is marked J Bishop

Looks like a New England gun.

IIRC, J. Bishop locks were imported from London.

I'm inclined to think New York.  The lock appears to have once been flint, but I'm not sure the rifle ever was. Is it one screw or two? A lot of locks were converted before they were ever on a gun, during the transitional period.

The gun has only one screw for the lock plate.

Is that trigger brass?  It looks like it might possibly be in a couple of the pictures.

Since it's a single bolt gun, the lock might not be original to it since it has a forward lock bolt hole.

Just checked and the trigger is Brass.

The brass single trigger is very typical of New York state.  I believe the lock is original to this gun, in that it has been on this gun from the time it was made, but was quite likely salvaged from another rifle at that time. If it did not have a hole for a forward lock bolt, I would say that it was simply converted before it was ever used.
