This Springs Turkey
« on: May 07, 2012, 12:15:11 AM »
Shot this heavy weight with my 20 gauge fowler a couple weeks ago. 26.5 lbs, 10 inch beard. My largest ever by half a pound.

The hunt lasted a total of 15 minutes! Got set up and called once, a few minutes later a large flock came by and I took the lead tom.

I use 65 grains FFF with an over powder card, 1/2 of a fiber wad thats lubed with olive oil, 1 3/8 oz. #6 lead shot, and finished off with an over shot card.

No I didn't :( In fact, I'd forgotten the camera and had to drive 17 miles back home, then back to the farm for this photo. :-[

Very nice.  Sounds like they were looking for a party.  I love quick hunts.
All I called in this year was a coyote :(
