Horn W/5 Bands & Antler Tip

Back to something a little more traditional. It is about 11” around the outside curve. The Walnut base is about 2”, hollowed out, it is held in by the same 4 steel pins that hold the base band on. The tip is a two part of Whitetail antler pinned together with 3 steel pins, it is pined to the horn with 3 more. The bands were boiled and pressed on, then secured with 3 steel pins each. Bands were dyed in a mixture of leftover dyes, the tip has a bit of Saddle Tan oil based leather dye on it and the body was done with AF and Brown shoe polish.

A very pleasing horn to the eye.
The rings, the colors ,the shape, the plug and spout, all become a nicely balanced whole.
Beautiful.

Not particularly enthralled with banded horns, but this is very nice. I could probably be persuaded to carry one as nice as this. Great job.
