Another Double Horn
« on: July 30, 2012, 11:13:32 PM »
It is 10” tip to tip, at the center they are about 2 ½”. The center piece is hollow so the powder can flow between them. The band is fitted to cover the seam. Eight pins hold the two horns and the band. The tips are two part Whitetail antler, pinned together with three steel pins and to the horns with three more, the rear tip is solid. Each of the bands has three pins securing them.
It is the center set in the bottom pic . The bottom set of horns, although a pair, do will work for a double horn, they are to straight.
As always comments pro or con are welcome.

Tim as usual your attention to the details and overall craftsmanship is super.  I was also able to see some of your horns in person this past weekend at Dixons that were displayed at Ian's table and they were so much better to see in person.  Thanks again for your sharing and giving us all more inspiration.

 Tim, I love this one!!!

The coloration of the horns is durn near a perfect mirror and the compliment of the bands and tips are just right.  Wish I had the dinero to make it mine.
Very nice job.

I agree that I like this one most of the two. Great work.
