I thought I'd post some pictures of the Gunmakers Fair as it happened. Ian Pratt is imparting knowledge to the masses out here in the wilderness. He's doing a class on forging Southern Rifle hardware.

We're just out of Littlerock at Capitol City Rifle and Pistol Club. Thursday thru Sunday (1/2 day Sunday) and yes we're doing this every year at this time. Google CCRP to get directions and get your butt out here!!! We'd love to see all the new faces we can.

By golly, that looks like fun. I though Dave Rase would be in his grass skirt. No such luck. I am very disappointed.

That'd be me....an invader from the Great White North....Rase cajolled and pleaded with me for about 6 months to come down and keep him company.

Hi, John! I'm glad to see what you look like! You know, these events are great for getting together and meeting face-to-face. The meeting adds so much to the day-to-day on the web. Really rounds out the experience. I'd really like to be there.

However, I should have been more specific........about which kid, in which beard.......

I was actually referring to the first photo at the beginning of the thread, there's a scruffy oily looking kid in a dark beard burning a baseball bat in the fire. That should not be allowed at these events. Gives guns a bad name, by golly; it's bad enough without burning the iconic American traditional baseball bat.

Rumor has it that Rase is wearing a thong underneath the grass skirt just in case the skirt does catch on fire.

The Guild fair was Great. We only needed a couple band-aids for the patch box class.... They were all for me. My habit of keeping odd bits of metal that still have the razor sharp burrs left on them get to be a problematic times. It was difficult not to take regular breaks to look in on Ian Pratt's class on Iron gun mounts with the rhythm of the hammers on the anvils ringing out through the trees. There were several original iron mounted guns on hand to examine. A Beal's Rifle, a Kennedy, and a NC Piedmont restock. Lots of other originals for fondling were on hand. Some horns and accoutrements made by members as well as originals of both shot pouches and horns. Saturday morning lectures were excellent. I had to leave early but the shoot for the afternoon is always a hoot. I loved every minute. My hats off to the guys that keep the doors open and the great talent coming out for hands on workshops. I will be back.

The gunmakers shoot and the usual suspects.

Pete Sheeran won the blanket shoot again this year, I think we'll make him post at 100 yards next year!!! Larry Throe won the luck shoot this year.
