A Texas Bowie
« on: September 26, 2012, 10:17:11 PM »
Just finished this one. A Texas sized Bowie knife for picking teeth, trimming nails, removing heads, or clearing small forests when necessary. Blade is 11" x 2 3/8" x 1/4", of 01 steel. False edge was brought to an edge, but not honed. India Sambar elk grip is secured by a through tang peened over the 1/8" thick steel beveled butt cap. Beveled S guard and ferrule are also of steel. All lightly aged to a pleasant gray. Hope you enjoy a look.

To quote Crocodile Dundee ..... now THAT's a knife!  Beautiful work.  What kind of sheath are you planing for it?

Very plain. Just a blade cover with a belt loop.

That's a wicked cool knife !!
Really like the scallop edge on the furl, just a little detail, but it adds to much to the overall look.

thanks for posting
