To me Christmas is a very special time because of my vertical relationship.....And, also because of all the great horizontal ones.

I am very grateful and humbled to be included and taught so wonderfully by members of this forum. Someday I hope your faith in my ability to learn to build beautiful guns will be fulfilled. You have all given me the greatest Christmas present I can ask for, your sharing of your work and skill, encouragement and time. I think that is the spirit of the original meaning of Christmas.

For those who don't celebrate Christmas, I appreciate your contributions as well.

I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday and that you find it encouraging and inspiring!

I want to THANK YOU all for the Christmas present you have given me over the last couple of years. I don't respond much on the forum as you can tell by my post count, i'm a one finger typer. I read the forum everyday though. I am curently on my third gun built with the help of you guys THANKS again for the time, knoledge, and direction you have given me even if you dont know it. Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.

From the snow-less Low Countries, enjoy Christmas and the best wishes for the new year! Funny world climate: we are at the same latitude as Labrador, but we have not experienced a White Christmas since 1981 when we had 4"of snow.
Today, temperature is plus 3C, but at the end of the week it will drop to minus 3 or 4C, and we hope there will be again the 200 km "Eleven cities” skating tour; the last one was in 1997, and the winner did it in less than 7 hours.
Back to ALR: work on the Jäger is progressing slowly; I decided to change from brass furniture to iron. The TOW brass was a $#*! to file and polish, and had not the simple lines I wanted for a no-nonsense working rifle. The brassware for the Lancaster County LR has been polished for me by a younger, stronger friend with more stamina, in exchange for some lock parts.
Now we have to pack up to go to our kids and grandkids where we will enjoy a slow food dinner.
