So...:... If someone could conjole, sweet talk, and twist an arm.... What would be a fair price to jave a contemporary maker put together a late period double smoothbore? Let us exclude the parts and just give a fair price on the labor involved. Say a fairly simple part sets are used, minimal and simple engraving on the gun. Basically a basic gun.Anyone willing to ballpark it?

I couldn't even bring myself to make one single barrel Bedford rifle. Two doubles He must have some perseverance!
Aw Come on MikeI'll loan you an original to copy. Don't know how I'd get it to you though.
After I finish the Side by Side 2 Bore I am currently building, I will be starting a matched set of 10 Bore Purdey Style Double Rifles. I build quite a few English Double Rifles even a German Double Rifle once in a while but I have yet to have a customer call me looking for American Doubles. Usually when people think of Double Rifles they are thinking of the days of the Great White Hunters and Africa. Shotguns are a different matter they take almost as much time to build(other than regulation, shotguns are much easier to regulate) and yet most people think they should cost lots less.
