Here's a photo of a nice MN doe that I took late yesterday afternoon on my farm here in central MN. She's been feeding all summer long on my corn, clover, and alfalfa and I never saw any fawns with her. She's in pretty good shape-other than being dead.
The rifle is one I built last winter with a .52 caliber swamped barrel from Charles Burton, Davis Colonial American lock, and a single set trigger from MLBS.
The load was 70 gr KIK 2fg, a 204 gr. .513" ball, .015" ticking.
She was at about 45-50 yards and a behind the shoulder hit dropped in her tracks.
