off- beat wire inlay query
« on: December 02, 2012, 08:14:23 PM »
This is a bit of an off-the-wall question to help a friend.   He is seeking someone to do a bit of decorative wire inlay on a modern (by ALR standards) recreation of an 1890-1910-ish classic schuetzen rifle.  He is running into a dead end in the schuetzen craft community since wire inlay was not common on the the American schuetzen scene though it does show up on a few early high art Euro-schuetzen rifles on occasion in the transition percussion to BP cartridge era.

FWIW he lives in southern Oregon along the I-5 corridor.  If anyone can suggest one of the ALR craftsmen who might be able to assist him I'd be happy to pass the contact information on.   you can contact me by PM if you wish.

best wishes to all for a peaceful and joyous Holiday Season

I would be pleased to have him contact me. I live in Medford Or., so chances are he lives within 30 miles of me.

I do not know exactly what he is contemplating,    I'm just passing contact info back to him.  Trying to help a fellow shooter who was not aware of the ALR community.  It's so easy for our specialist shooting groups/tinkerers/craftsmen to sort of get lost in our own little snow dome.
