Aging Leather
« on: December 15, 2012, 04:47:22 PM »
Staining and finishing some bags this week. For my own bags I like to age them a bit. Also, like to have them waterproof.

The two bags were made from the same leather. The one on the right has Fieblings Medium Brown stain applied. After it dried I heated the bag and applied Bear Grease over the outer surfaces. I let the bear grease dry over low heat for 24 hrs. Then, applied a hard paste wax to the bag, rubbing extra into the seems. Next day it was buffed.

I think it gives the bag the look of age as if it had been well cared for.

It really added a rich color to the bag, I like it.
