Here is a low cost H. Pickle. He was a York County PA, maker.

The only thing about this gun that might be a Henry Pickle is the barrel.  Pickle was a fine maker, this is most likely a restock using a Pickle barrel.

Thats kinda what I thought! Never seen his work though. Figured he was a lil earlier than that . Cheap though if somone needs a  signed Pickle oct to round barrel.

Some think that Henry Pickle was close to the top gun maker in the York School. There isn't much out there to dispute that concept, for he seems to have mainly been a govt. contract maker producing locks and military arms. There are a few rifles by his hand, however. The one rifle that is best known is just a screamer. It has no inlays, but does have the finest carving one could ever hope to see. It is shown in some of the books.
Frank nailed it; this has to be a reused barrel, and has been somewhat shortened, at that. Might be worth having just for the signed barrel. I have a lock plate with his signature on it; perhaps I should buy it.
