Hunter, Hounds and Eagle Horn!
« on: December 25, 2012, 06:48:59 AM »
I just finished this horn and some would call it a contemporary horn style with the engraving.  The engraving is from a 18th century painting basically, with some of my own background idea's, so I guess it would be a traditional applied tip contemporary powder horn  ???....or something like that! :-\

Opposite side of horn.

Very familiar with that gamekeeper painting. I like your horn very much.

I liked the way you framed both sides. Great horn Rick!
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

I came back to look at this horn again. That's how much I like it. Love the hunter and hound scrimshaw. Amazing!

I would call this horn a work of art and not worry about any other term applied to it. I dig your dark and deep engraving. Your work is never overdone or too fussy.
Well done for sure.

I like it. I can just see it riding on my hip..as my wife shoots me for spending more money. But since it is for to look at then I don't have to worry. It is a work of art.
