RE Davis Leman Percussion Lock

Can a Leman lock by Davis be made to work for a Hawken snail?
I'm concerned the pre-cut for the drum may preclude  filing out for the modified shape for a snail.

you would be better off getting a Hawken lock. that main spring stud is right under where the snail must drop in  and you will end up  grinding ding right through it so the upper leaf of the spring stud is resting on the snail. Not a good plan. The Hawken main spring has a long upper leaf that clears this critical area in the bolster.
