I just heard that Hodgdon will be manufacturing "Olde Eynsford Target Grade Powder" (black powder) next month, in 1-2/2F, 2F & 3F

Does our Retired Powder Expert have any opinions on this? 

Maybe it is just a (well I'll not say it) new Trade Name for GOEX?

It is not on their website, came from Shotshow verbally.

Assuming its not a rumor the results will likely depend on the charcoal being used. This is the only real bottle neck in American BP making. The charcoal is really the heart of BP. Sulfur and Saltpeter have to be pure. The charcoal is a variable and has to be made just so, from the right wood to be the best it can be. Given the right charcoal and the right equipment they could equal "Swiss" or Hazard's "Kentucky Rifle" etc etc. There are several fine American powders from the past whose name they could use if they don't belong to DuPont. The "Eynsford" thing sound like something from a Madison Avenue think tank. though I don't know the history of Eynsford, Kent.
