Turkey Wing Bone handled knife
« on: January 28, 2013, 02:17:43 AM »
We have a big bandsaw/hacksaw at work in my fab shop. When the blades are replaced I use some of the blade for knife blades and scrapers. This knife has a 4 inch blade that runs into the handle. It has a poured pewter bolster but the Turkey bone proved to be quite brittle where it met the pewter. I compensated by wrapping braintan strip around the bone until it seemed strong enough without it. Pam loves this little knife so it probably won't become a bag knife as I intended. Oh well. I can always make more.

This is one of those very simple knives that the more I look at it,the more I like it! And since I dont have a shop untill late march,I may need to try and talk you out of this one. I like it THAT much!

Well I suppose I could make another but John DeWald has this one. At least it's on it's way to him.
