The blade is forged from a file. The edge has a dovetailed bit welded in. I did this because the cutting edge was cracking while forging. The head is 4 5/8" long with a 2" cutting edge. The 14 3/4" handle is hickory.

How do you like that straight cutting edge? Been wanting to try one on one of my trek's,just for yuck's and giggles.

Thanks. The straight cutting edge seems to be good: I haven't really tried it on anything big
