« on: March 05, 2013, 11:59:28 PM »
Where can I get a couple of pounds of No. 3 buckshot for my 20 gauge trade pistol?

Thanks.

Ballisticproducts.com. They have everything for shotgun reloading including every size of buckshot.

Any gun shop that handles Hornady products should be able to get it.

I checked Midway.  All I can find is mold and pellets for No. 4 buckshot.  How does that work out of a 20 gauge?

Ballistic Products has what I need.  Thanks.  (Don't want to pay for a mold as I won't shoot that much.)

# 3 buck is commonly used in 20 gauge shells. I have some 2 3/4" federals that use 20 # 3s, copperplated.  But unplated lead alloyed shot is also loaded by various brands. Common lead buckshot is nearly unobtanium these days.

Stonewall Outfitters sells No. 4 buck by the 100.  I wish I had seen this before ordering 8 pounds of No. 3 as I won't shoot this much.

Oh Yes.  I  have the 20 gauge fowler to match the pistol, and, right now, only a couple of other ml handguns.  I gave both my rifles (.32 percussin and .40 flint) to my children.  It saved me from having to buy a gun safe.  I guess I need to get a .600 round ball mold.
