I've been asked to come up with a match next April

Need some advice on a standard muzzleloading match.  Probably 10 or 12 shooters.  Probably no more than 5 shots per shooter.  We usually shoot off hand, but sometime off the side of a post at long range. Any advice on a fun match that any of you guys do on a regular basis?

5 shot limit makes it kinda tough. Cutting 2X4's in half,small terracotta flower pot's hung from a string through the drain hole. Cutting a card in half,(set on edge) spaghetti,various veggies at various distance's......

My favorite target is the 4' gong at @ 180yd's at the Lansing Muzzleloaders gun club,(awsome range and great bunch of fella's ta boot!),I've hit all it 3 times I've shot at it with my TRS Bess! Yup,a little bragging!(yes one of them DID skip in,but it still rang!)

Here's an idea to get the competitive juices flowing.

Start saving jar lids - peanut butter jars, pickle jars, whatever. Make a target stand with a simple cross bar about 4' tall and maybe 6' wide. Loop nine pieces of wire onto the cross bar, hanging down about 10" with a hook on the end, preferably pointing away from the shooters. Put it out at 25 to 50 yards and hang a jar lid on each hook.

Now, two shooters step up to the line. At the signal they start loading and shooting, one from the left end and one from the right. At one point per lid, whoever gets to the center first wins. The winner can then "pour it on" and poach into the other shooter's territory. Everybody gets a point score.

If you want to keep shooting after everybody has had a go, do a round robin, highest cumulative score wins.
