Decided to try and make a cameo horn after seeing them in Madison Grants book ..this is what I came up with ..the horn itself is 14" outside curve ..the base is 2 1/2" diameter maple with a brass staple .. the tip is applied and turned from antler did not have that much to work with near the tip so that is why the applied tip .. decided to engrave a ship on the raised oval panel ..

That is really neat. I have Grant's book on pouches but not on horns.
