Greetings
Getting ready for the table shoot this weekend at Coon's. Looking forward to seeing everybody, should prove to be interesting. Been hearing rumors about some different faces showing up. Be glad to see one and all. The tables will be open at 8:00 AM. You can jump in at any time during the day that you like you were going to close the tables at 2 PM. Be a short break while we score the final targets that will the awards. It's still looking like were going to sacrifice hamburgers and hotdogs to the girll I've been thinking about putting together a big dutch oven casserole. And of course if anybody else like bring side dishes, I will most graciously taste test to make sure all are safe. For the consumption of my fellow shooters. On another note, apparently the rumors are true. INDOT is expecting to have the State Road 62. Open by the first or second of June. If the weather doesn't get in their way.

I hope to be there along with a couple of other KY sharpshooters. First time at this type of shoot for all of us so we plan to learn the in's and out's. So be easy on us.

I'm still planning to be there. As said earlier; The worst we can do is sit around lieing to each other over a brew, or two. See you Saturday.

no. it is the best x s in the whole match shoot .not per round or string meassurement. it looks so somple all you have to do is put your barrel on the board aim and pull trigger. why at 30 yards at home we put them in a nickel all day long.welcome to match day.

INDOT hope to have SR62 open before June 8.Good.Here is a story about
a similar incident involving a collapsed bridge here in WV near the town of
Vulcan.The mayor appealed to the State Road Commision,the Governor,a
Congressman all to no avail. He then appealed to the East Germans,the Chinese Communists
and the Soviet Union. The Russians actually sent a representattive from the Moscow Literary Gazette
to look at the situationand he couldn't understand why the richest country on Earth couldn't repalce a
such a small bridge. He said when these things happened in Russia,a Pioneer Company from the Red Army would
come out,make measurements and put in a a prefabricated bridge.
This shamed the state into getting off their dead rear ends and help this isolated little community with a new bridge.
While no one approved the Mayor's tactics,no one condemned the results.

I had a couple questions asked over the last couple of days and if anybody needs to contact me my e-mail is at the end of this Just in case anyone is interested we are looking at basic chunk gun rules with the following exceptions.
Somebody had a question about payout in our first shoot. We paid out the best X's of the whole day in this shoot, we will be paying out the best three X's in each round. With a traveling trophy being awarded to the top money winner.

1). The rifle must weigh 13 pounds or less unloaded, including all apparatuses which will be on the rifle at the time of firing,

2). Rear sights must be of the following: open notch or peep sight. Adjustable rear sights will be allowed on the rifle but may not be adjusted after the competition begins.

3). All shooters will use a common table or tables provided by range. The muzzle will be supported by a pyramid of 2X4s provided by range. The rest may be covered with no more than 2 layers cloth or leather to protect finish of rifle.

4.) The distance shot will be approximately 30 yards at a center X and scored under typical center X scoring rules.

5.) No Kant blocks, sand bags or other devices intended to stabilize the rifle, shooting mitts, shooting coats or wind reading devices will be allowed.

6). Spotting scope may be placed behind the loading area, and in a manner as not to interfere with other competitors, and may not be placed on the shooting table.

7). Patching materials not available before 1935 may not be used (no Teflon patching)

I got back from the "table shoot" that Robin put on at Allen Coon's range in Indiana this afternoon and want to tell everyone; you've got to try it. Robin did a fine job and the shooters all had a great time. Believe it or not, 30 yards can be a long way out and the X's are few and far between. Thanks Robin and Allen, I know I'll be back.

Had a good time at the table shoot that was held at Allen's place. I was told it was a Gentlman's match but all those Buckeyes and Hoosiers beat me like I ws a borrowed mule.

Hey everybody,
Well the breakdown on the table shoot at Coons looks like this. Mike M had three first-place, four second-place and one third-place finish really impressive out of arrival he's only owned a short time and I believe had only shot once before coming to the match. If I recall it was a square notch rear sight with a blade on the front nice-looking rifle to Mike. Bill D came in second with four first-place and one third-place. Once again, I think Bill was shooting a offhand with Peep over post. Good Shooting Bill. Dave C,, in third with one first-place, two second-place and three third-placeX with a measurement of 0.115 also taking best using a small squirrel gun with square notch and blade with the clarifier. Charles U. Took fourth with two first-place and one third-place. And are first-time shooter Justin took one third-place shooting grandpa Leonards, 40 caliber offhand rifle. I was really glad to see the bunch from Kentucky and Ohio. I'm thinking we had four for Ohio and three from Kentucky. From what I'm hearing though I think the Kentuckians are going to go home and practice and try to make it hard on the Hoosiers and the buckeyes next time around. I would also like to thank those who donated prizes. I believe and forgive me if I'm wrong gentlemen Charlie U donated a powder horn which Mark H won. Mike donated a shooting box which Dave C won and Mark H donated a small shooting by which Mike M won would also like to thank Leonard A for being the grill master and making sure none of us went hungry. Great budget shooters. I hope you all come back for the June 29 table shoot and June 30 over the log once again thanks to everyone who participated. We really miss those of you who couldn't make it for now. I'll talk to you later. And if I don't see you before I'll see you at Friendship. 0h By the Way Charlie W the Kentuckians didn't get completely shut out. Carl took home a first and a third and I thought you guys put on a really good showing get on backup. here as soon as you can and you can show those evil Hoosiers and buckeyes who is really the boss. what i found interesting was top and 3d money winner shot open sights. all the top 3 shot 45 cal or under . the 3d place man shot a little 32 cal squirrel gun 11/16 shaved barrel and the darn thing weighed under 5 lbd. way to go collier.showed the pups they did not need the extra 8 lbs of gun bill d is going to have to quit bulying the young pups and taking their lunch money away. second shoot in a row for him winning big. i think bill is 67

Open sights , 6 o'clock hold 30yds.

This was a 10 shot relay paying top 3 places each relay. With 3 shot warm-up.
