Are experienced and newbies not able to co-exist? Does one mutually exclude the other?
I hate to say this but the more I think about it the more I think this statement is correct. I am not sure how (of if) you could make an environment attractive to both.
If you had some way of having newbies putting some skin in the game i.e. payment of some sort, it might weed out the as the car salesmen call them, tire kickers, from the serious newby. I personally think that's why the week long building seminars do well. Sure the instructors are paid but they still have to go to a lot of trouble to teach these classes. Anyone willing to take the time and expense to go to one of those schools is dead serious about learning.
I think this also works at places like the Log Cabin, not sure if there is a $ amount involved or not but someone has to devote the time and expense to attend the classes.
