I just hope they come out with a CD to accompany the book.  I have found their CD's to be invaluable tools.  Enjoy, J.D.

I purchased my copy of this book at the KRA last weekend, it's a fabulous book, the photography and attention to detail is terrific.

I will second what Frank said.  This book stands head and shoulders above the rest for photography and attention to detail. I saw some of the process when Dave was working on the photography, and it is truly a labor of love.  Well worth the $$

I agree, a fine book!
All top tier guns with excellent photography, lots of close ups, and a page giving dimensions of each gun.
Just all together outstanding!

I picked up a copy of this book at the KRA show for a couple reasons. Not only are the rifles shown in it top quality examples, there are lots of comparison photos that match up different style side plates, toe plate, carvings, etc. This is one of the nicest collections of Kentucky rifles assembled. Each rifle is detailed in close up shots plus views of the complete rifles. Some of the rifles shown are, of course, the Becks, Isaac Haines, Peter Berry Jr. and Sr., H. Mauger, Henry Pickel, Bonewitz, two John Nolls, Frederick Sell, John Armstrong, John and Herman Rupp, John Fleeger and others. You can order this off the Kentucky Rifle Foundation website and print out an order form. www.kentuckyriflefoundation.com

Karl,   Yes. The Kentucky Rifle Foundation will have Dave Hansen's new book and their complete product offering at Dixson's. The KRF table should be easy to spot but if you have difficulty look for Mac Spencer's table.

Dave's book and the all the other products we market will also be at The CLA show. Hope to also have the newest KRF CD "Southern Rifles" at the CLA show as well.

Sales have been brisk. You might want to forward advanced payment for Dave's book before either show and reserve yourself a prepaid copy.  Regards,  HIB

Not only is this a great book of beautiful photographs of some of the best antique American longrifles rifles extant, it is also a wonderfully and masterfully produced book.  My wife did not complain when I removed from the living room coffee table our books on Antebellum homes of the South and great southern furniture and replaced them with one book-  Dave Hansen's An Intimate Look at the American Longrifle .  It is one handsome book!  It is an added bonus that Mr. Hansen's text discusses the American longrifle and analyses those featured with knowledge not only of the rifles themselves but of their historic and artistic context as well.
