Lost Info , help please
« on: June 20, 2013, 02:02:06 AM »
Seems when my computer crashed a while back , I lost some photos of long rifles with 2 part stocks .
Would anyone have a photo of the Abram Henry Lancaster . I seem to recall it had  the two parts held on  with keys .

Any  help would be appreciated

thank you Dave, . I could remember the application of keys on each side and that some  had angled plates and some vertical . but for the life of me i  couldnt get i square in my mind just where the break was .
I was thinking that on the A. Henry , he broke the stock forwards of the entry .
i cant belive i cant find that information , maybe i put it on a CD somewhere ??? been driving me crazy

I think I saw some photo's of a fowler that Jim Kibler made with a stock that was in two parts.  I just can't remember if it was on this site or contemporary makers blog spot.

There may be more interior pictures of the Heylin gun posted here

I also have some pictures of the Elston gun here

Captchee,
If you need a specific photo taken of either gun let me knkw and I will take it and email it as I have a hard time posting to my photobucket from my phone.

James

PS seems to me there was a takedown rifle gun at Williamsburg some time ago that was thought to have been done that way as an "after the fact" due to a barrel incident. Maybe someone else can elaborate on or correct me on this.
