Chamber's 10 NE Fowler "Fiery Dragon"
« on: July 09, 2013, 12:58:32 AM »
OK, I know it's not PC, but it's a pretty nice "contemporary" rendition, and I thought it was kind of fun.
It's a 10ga, jug choked, killing machine, Cherry stock, dragon sideplate. Hence the name "Fiery Dragon"
Let me know what you think.

Well if your asking me ? ---Thats a real nice looking gun, tell the HC/PC crowd to go stand behind a tree if they don't like it.  My 10 bore's not PC but the birds can't tell that from where they're at........Tom

I really like your gun. I have built two of those, one in cherry and one in c. maple.  The cherry stocked one now resides with my friend and the maple stocked one is my most used firearm. Your treatment of the cherry is very nice. I'm currently working on the Chamber's Officer's fusil [ cherry ]  so really appreciate your posting of this gun. Cherry can have so many different variants in colour and finish . Nicely done  :)

This is very nice and all the design elements "work" together well.  A very harmonious design if you ask me :)

What isn't "PC" about this gun?

I think I should have put a patent on engraving a dragon on that side plate....  ;)

Thanks for all the responses guys.
This is the third one of these I've built, and some day, I'll build a similar one for myself.  I had a lot of trouble engraving the buttplate, lots of inclusions in the casting.
I was kind of reluctant to engrave the sideplate with the dragon.  I had one at first that kind of looked to "Disney", but this one seems to have the "Look" a little more, so I went with it.  My client, wanted it to be called the Fiery Dragon, so I put that on the barrel.  My son and I were pondering over what to do with the side plate, and HE can up with this design.  I showed it to my client, and he loved it, so......... the rest is history.

Mr. Brooks, thanks so much.  That means a lot coming from THE Fowler guy.  Go ahead and patent it, as long as I can keep using it.

Have to give her up this weekend, but it's going to a great home. Someone who will shoot the crud out of it.

Again, thanks.

Dane

Dane, I think it's cool and well done. Slender and I like the long wrist into the buttstock also.

It's all already been said Dane, but that's a fine fowler, thank you for sharing!  What did you do to get the cherry that dark?

I see nothing about it that is non HCPC.  When all of the remaining originals have been found and cataloged then It can be compared and said whether it is HCPC or not.  Beautiful job now I want one of those and one of this one and 3 of another etc, etc, etc.

Nice work.  I have been contemplating a 10ga myself.  You may have pushed me over the edge.  Did you do the jug choke or who?  Also, did you retain the full length barrel as shipped for this gun or shorten it some?
