Beautiful rifle, Mark! Who did your photography? Just kidding, both show a great abundance of talent. Thank you letting us have a look.

Nice job on the rifle. I think this is the best looking chunk gun I have seen.

Tim,  There is actually, only one dogwood flower; on the cheek piece.  The rest are edelweiss right from the original carvings.   Actually,  I probably more accurately represented the two edelweiss on the rear of the cheek, than the original German carvers.    For a dogwood,  two opposite petals must be longer than the other pair.   A dogwood forms a cross.   At least, that is how it is traditionally represented,  as in the legend of the dogwood.   http://www.appleseeds.org/dogwood.htm

Marc,  I have never been able to do things the way other people do them.    ;D   Plus, I just like carving too much leave something un-carved.  It took considerable restraint to only do what I did on this rifle.

With regards to the photography,  I had not finished the editing on all those pics.   Did you notice the stand was still in the full length photos?  Also,  they are only 700 pixel on the long side to accommodate the board's restrictions.  The ones on my web site are up to 5500 pixels on the long side.   You can see every little slip in the engraving on those.  However, as my brother accurately said (my family can be brutally honest),  it does show improvement.    :D

Great job Mark! Outstanding Fantasy Rifle! I really appreciate it when someone steps outside the box and uses their imagination and creativity to create something original and out of the ordinary, especially when it's so superbly executed.

Well........  I have been looking at it for 30 min.......  Where did you improve ?   This rifle is exquisite, as they always... are.  Tell your brother that the cost of His rifle will be about $ 3K more than the usual rifle, as all these skill improvements are driving the retail prices thru the roof !  ha ha !!   ;D

That is a beautiful rifle, no doubt about it.   ;)

I forgot to ask when I first put this up, if anybody noticed the bark inclusion I left in the lower forearm?   I did hide it pretty well on aging, but I would have thought someone would have noticed and commented.   I decided to leave it rather than try to repair it.   If nobody noticed,  I guess I did the right thing.   :D
